Asthma

Asthma is considered a chronic disease that refers to how your bronchial tubes allow air to come in and out of your lungs. If you suffer from asthma, your bronchial tubes are consistently inflamed. When they become even more inflamed, muscles around the tubes will tighten and this triggers the asthma symptoms, which include:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest tightness
  • Chest pain
  • Chronic coughing
  • Trouble sleeping from coughing
  • Wheezing

Your symptoms are caused by the inflammation I described above. The inflammation of your bronchial tubes can be caused by allergies or exposure to allergens. Smoke, pollution, or changes in the weather can also ignite asthma symptoms. During exercise or high times of stress can also be a trigger for asthma symptoms.

There is no cure for asthma at the moment, but there are treatment plans that can greatly affect the intensity and consistency of asthma symptoms. Medications are the best help with this condition and it’s important you are taking the right ones.
